St John's College Anchal

St John's college is a one of the higher educational institutions of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. The college is situated at Anchal, Kerala, India. It is one of the Malankara Syrian Catholic colleges established and administered by the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum in accordance with the rights of the minority community guaranteed in the constitution of India. This estimated centre of learning is the fruit of the vision and far sightedness of late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios and currently flourishing under the patronage of Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis.Ever since its inception the college is championing the cause of learning and total development of the region. The college had been accredited at B+ grade by NAAC in 2005.

It is affiliated to the university of Kerala was started in 1964 with pre- degree course and upgraded successively with B.A,B.Sc and B.Com Degree courses in 1967 M.Sc Mathematatics in 1995,B.A.Communicative English (Semester) in 1998,M.A. Public Administration(Semester) in 1999, and M.Sc Environmental Science(Semester)in 2001.

While being conscious of its special obligations for providing educational opportunities to the Malankara Syrian Catholics community, the management also extends its service to the members of other communities as well to the extent possible.

Principal: Prof. K.V.Thomaskutty.

Prof. K.V.Thomaskutty has joined the college in 1981 as Lecturer in History. Later in 1992 he became the Head of the Department of History. In April 2011 he took charge as the principal of the college. He is a master trainer for youth groups, women groups, employees, teachers, factory workers, hospital workers, and students. He has expertise in - Motivation sessions and Positive thinking. Prof. K.V.Thomaskutty is a well known public speaker.
